Sacramento releases Okpala, contracts with Dozier

The Sacramento Kings, approaching the playoffs, made changes to their composition.

According to ESPN reporter Adrian Wojnalowski, on the 25th (Korean time), Sacramento announced that KZ Okpala (forward-guard, 203cm, 98kg) would be released.

Sacramento then caught PJ Dozier (guard-forward, 198cm, 93kg). Sacramento signed Dozier to a contract for the remainder of the season.

Okpala’s season was cut short after an unexpected injury earlier this season. Traded from the Miami Heat to the Oklahoma City Thunder before the trade deadline last season, he was not immediately released.

Last offseason, he signed a multi-year contract with Sacramento. He was not fully guaranteed, but managed to convert it during the season. However, he was removed from the force less than a month after the contract conversion. He injured his knee in an away game against the Minnesota Timberwolves on the 29th (Korean time).

The injury that day ended his season. If he wasn’t hurt, he was expected to play his part on the Sacramento bench and play in the playoffs. However, his injury prevented him from playing the rest of the season, and Sacramento, hoping to keep him active, decided not to join him.

He appeared in 35 games this season before getting injured. He recorded 1.3 points (.421 .333 .875) and 1 rebound in 7.1 minutes per game. He was not a standout performer, but he did his part in filling the remainder of his time. However, his performance has been somewhat low lately, and he ended this season with injuries overlapping.

Okpala, who entered the NBA through the last 2019 draft, was called by the Phoenix Suns with the second pick in the second round. Later, through a trade, he wore a Miami uniform and signed a multi-year contract. However, he also made several trips to and from the G-League. In his last season, he even raised his average to 3.7 points.

Meanwhile, Sacramento brought in Dozier. He was traded from the Denver Nuggets to the Boston Celtics along with Bol Ball (Orlando) during last season, and was traded from Boston to the Orlando Magic before the trade deadline.

Injuries were the cause. He was also sidelined during the season due to a knee injury last season. He tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee, ending his season. This led to several trades, which made his future this season somewhat unclear. 카지노

Nonetheless, he survived. He decided to nest with the Minnesota Timberwolves in the offseason. However, he did not survive as he was released before the season, and after that, the Minnesota G-League team had to spend most of this season with the Iowa Wolves.

After signing a 10-day contract with Sacramento in early January, he signed a second 10-day contract in mid-January. However, he was unable to win a contract for the remainder of the season. However, this time Sacramento gave him a contract for the remainder of the season, giving him another chance to play.
