The Pohang Steelers will host eight veterans of the 625 Hakdo Army from the Pohang area at the Hana OneQ K League 1 2023 Round 17 home game against Jeju United on Memorial Day, June 6 at 6 p.m. at Pohang Steelyard. This is to show our gratitude and respect for those who sacrificed their lives for the country at a young age in honor of Veterans’ Month.

The eight veterans will be wearing Pohang uniforms with their ages marked on their backs, and will deliver the match ball to the field.

The Marines were also on hand for the meaningful event. When entering the Veterans’ Ground, active-duty Marines will serve as escorts. In the stands, more than 400 Marines will show their respect with a group salute. The Marine Corps Band will play marches, the National Anthem, and a moment of silence for the Taps as the veterans enter the grounds.

The Steel Yard North Gate Plaza will host the 625th Veterans Appreciation Campaign in conjunction with Warm Companions, a social welfare organization that conducts various activities to create a warm world without barriers. There will be a “Thank You Wall” where spectators can leave their own messages of gratitude for the sacrifices of all veterans, as well as Korean flag tattoo stickers for those who participate. Fans who post photos of their participation in the veteran appreciation event on social media will be the first to receive club merchandise.

At the stadium, Grant will be honored with the Espoh Hospital May Player of the Month award immediately after the team enters the stadium. Espoh Hospital, the club’s designated hospital, also provided wheelchairs for the game for some veterans with limited mobility.

At halftime, one Chevrolet Trax crossover LS, a special giveaway provided by POSCO and GM Korea, will once again find its owner. The raffle was held at the Pohang Steelers’ 50th Anniversary Match, but the winner did not appear, so the raffle will be held once again at this game.
