Australian finisher Liam Hendricks diagnosed with blood cancer “will overcome”

Liam Hendricks (34, Chicago White Sox), who is from Australia and has established himself as one of the top finishing pitchers in the major leagues, was diagnosed with lymphoma. Lymphoma is a type of blood cancer.

On the 8th (local time), Hendricks announced the news of his battle with cancer on his social network service (SNS). “Now I am starting treatment in earnest,” he said. “When I first heard the word ‘cancer’, my wife and I were shocked.

Hendricks added, “I will recover perfectly and come back quickly” and added, “I will definitely overcome it with my family and colleagues.”
